A source of irrigation confirmed the continued flow of water releases from the Darbandikhan Dam towards Hamrin Lake in Diyala.
He told the reporter of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that the continuation of the flow of water from the Darbandikhan Dam towards Hamrin Lake, northeast of Baquba, comes within an agreement between the governments of Diyala and Karmian to address the water shortage, noting that the work of the agreement will continue until next September.
He pointed out that the water storage in the Darbandikhan dam is under control and is sufficient to meet the basic needs of drinking water and watering orchards. He ruled out approving the summer cultivation plan during the current season.
