Muscat: Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OCAC) today organised a symposium to discuss means of applying the latest technologies that would enable the country to keep pace with global developments in the field. The symposium was titled ‘Sports Arbitration and Integrity Guarantees’. In a speech at the symposium, Issa Ali Al Ghassani, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre, said that the Centre has plans for the next phase of development, modernisation, specialisation and application of the latest technologies in various areas of arbitration. He added that the symposium marks the launch of programmes and events to promote all aspects of specialised arbitration.
According to Oman News Agency, international sports lawyer Dave Kumar Parmar, an expert in sports arbitration, outlined the history of sports and spoke about the diversity of sports games that, he said, necessitated the existence of neutral parties to resolve disputes and disagreements in sports spheres. also provided a comprehensive definition of the concept of sports arbitration and the role it plays in resolving sports disputes and disagreements.
