Al-Shammari: Al-Sadr’s call to close the US embassy represents an embarrassment to the government and the coordination framework.

Baghdad – The head of the Political Thinking Center, Dr. Ihsan Al-Shammari, confirmed that the call of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, to close the American embassy represents an embarrassment to the government and the coordination framework.

Al-Shammari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA: Al-Sadr’s recent position in calling for the closure of the American embassy came in the context of previously announced positions regarding what is happening in Gaza. On the other hand, Al-Sadr wants to motivate the forces of the coordination framework to take a position that can, through it, put more pressure on the United States.

He added: Al-Sadr’s message was carried for the first time in a long, long time, a letter to the government and Parliament with a request, and this is part of a testing process that Al-Sadr is embarking on towards the government.

Al-Shammari stressed that this message represents an embarrassment to the government, the coordination framework, parliament, and other political forces, because they are unwilling to sever relations with the United States of America, pointing out that the Prime Minister is unable to sever relations with the United States because he realizes the great consequences that will follow.

He explained that through the letter, Al-Sadr wants to reveal the truth about the slogans launched by some political forces towards the United States of America.

He continued, “We are facing many scenarios in the future that may come after Al-Sadr’s decisions towards the government, after a year the government has not achieved any achievements inside Iraq.”
