Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival Draws Record Number of Visitors

Muscat: Al Jabal Al Akhdar Festival 2026 has attracted more than 100,000 visitors since the launch of its activities through the end of July, continuing its role in revitalizing tourism and economic activity in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar.

According to Oman News Agency, the festival features a diverse programme spanning 45 days, combining entertainment, cultural and sporting events with tourism experiences. It also provides direct marketing platforms for products of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), family-run businesses, and farmers. The festival is organized by the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah in collaboration with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority "Riyada," with a strategic partnership from OQ Gas Networks.

The event sees participation from 95 entities representing SMEs, family businesses, farmers, restaurants, caf©s, and local retailers. This setup provides direct channels for marketing national products and opens new opportunities for project owners to capitalize on the tourism traffic the wilayat experiences during the summer season.

The festival contributes to supporting the local economy by boosting demand for products and services, increasing commercial activity, and creating an interactive environment that brings together visitors and entrepreneurs in a single venue. This reflects the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah's commitment to leveraging natural and tourism assets in support of local content.

The festival features a range of experiences and activities tailored to various age groups. These include daily performances on the main stage, a roaming carnival, the Family Oasis, the Youth Square, the Children's World, the Cinema Dome, interactive aerial games, and the Neon Oasis. Additionally, the "Floating Pantry" experience using 3D hologram technology is being presented for the first time in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah, enriching the visitor experience and extending their duration of stay at the festival site.

Throughout the current month of August, the festival continues to offer a package of signature events. Highlights include hosting the Drive More One sports car team, a tourist procession through the villages of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, the sports caravan, the Traditional Games League, a running race, the Gulf Horsemen Forum, and the Fig and Olive Forum. These events showcase Al Jabal Al Akhdar's agricultural and cultural assets, broadening the scope of activities and appealing to diverse segments of visitors and enthusiasts.
