Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources today celebrated the opening of Al Jufainah Protection Dam in the Wilayat of Al Amerat, Muscat Governorate. The event marked a significant development in the region’s water management infrastructure.

According to Oman News Agency, the dam, constructed at a cost of more than RO 38 million, boasts a storage capacity of approximately 15.7 million cubic metres of water. The structure measures 30 metres in height and stretches 2,287 metres in length, signifying a substantial investment in the area’s water conservation efforts.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in managing water resources and supporting agricultural activities in the Al Amerat region.
