Agreement Signed to Assign Agricultural, Water Control Tasks in Al Najd Area

Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources today signed an agreement with Security and Safety Services Corporation to support the tasks of agricultural and water monitoring in Al Najd area of Dhofar Governorate. The agreement seeks to enhance the system of field monitoring and ensure the optimal use of natural resources. The agreement was signed by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Maj. Gen. Abdullah Ali Al Harthy, Chairman of Security and Safety Services Corporation.

According to Oman News Agency, the agreement aims to achieve agricultural and water sustainability in Al Najd area by addressing challenges, protecting water resources against depletion, limiting uncontrolled drilling and protecting agricultural lands from encroachment and erosion-besides monitoring the approved crop composition.

The agreement stems from a vision to expand partnerships with private sector establishments, enhance the efficiency of fieldwork and support national efforts to achieve food security and maintain environmental sustainability in the Sultanate of Oman.
