World Cancer Congress 2025: A Hub for Scientific Innovation in Cancer Treatment

Muscat: The World Cancer Congress, Summit, and Exhibition 2025, recently held in Muscat, has further established itself as a preeminent regional and international platform for scientific and medical discourse in the realms of cancer treatment, research, and prevention. The event is renowned for its extensive scientific activities and specialized research discussions.

According to Oman News Agency, the third day of the Congress continued to showcase its commitment to scientific excellence through a series of specialized sessions. These sessions highlighted the latest advancements in tumor diagnosis and treatment, featuring participation from a distinguished assembly of physicians, consultants, researchers, and nursing experts from both within Oman and abroad.

During the Congress sessions, experts and speakers underscored the necessity of staying abreast of global developments in cancer control. They advocated for enhanced collaboration between academic and research institutions and specialized medical centers, aiming to optimize treatment outcomes and improve patient quality of life.

The discussions at the Congress addressed the clinical and research challenges faced by medical and nursing professionals in managing complex cases, presenting innovative solutions bolstered by cutting-edge scientific evidence. Topics such as therapeutic nutrition, physical activity, quality of life, and the role of nursing in creating a supportive environment for patients and their families were thoroughly examined. The day concluded with a workshop on pain management and a practical session on telephone triage mechanisms, blending clinical expertise with compassionate care.

The third day exemplified the fusion of scientific research, clinical, and nursing practice, highlighting the critical role of continuous research and training in advancing oncology services and enhancing patient quality of life. The Congress aims to conclude with significant outcomes, including building local and regional capacities for early detection and effective treatment, adopting policy and regulatory frameworks through the “Muscat Declaration,” enhancing research cooperation and technology transfer, increasing community awareness, and establishing sustainable partnerships across various sectors.

In conjunction with the Summit, an annual walk organized by the Omani Cancer Association will take place at Qurum Natural Park. This event, the twenty-first of its kind, aims to raise awareness about cancer and support patients and their families through awareness events and sports activities.
