Tender Board Approves RO 100 Million Development Projects Across Oman

Muscat: The Tender Board, led by Dr. Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy, convened for its second meeting of 2025, announcing the approval of numerous tenders and supplementary works for development projects across various sectors, totaling RO 100,915,705.

According to Oman News Agency, the approved tenders encompass a wide range of sectors. Notable projects include a four-year government agreement for Oracle software licenses valued at RO 33,180,391 and a road paving project in North A’Sharqiyah Governorate costing RO 12,423,487. Additionally, an asphalt road construction project in A’Dhahirah Governorate is valued at RO 8,199,986, along with a dual-carriageway project in Musandam Governorate worth RO 4,885,739.

The board also sanctioned maintenance and beautification projects, such as asphalt road maintenance in Al Buraimi Governorate at RO 3,970,186 and beautification works in Muscat Governorate valued at RO 3,288,137. Significant improvements are planned for the Al Shuwaymiyah mountain pass in Dhofar Governorate, with a budget of RO 3,204,899.

In the healthcare sector, contracts were awarded for the provision of technicians for operating and maintaining medical equipment in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, worth RO 3,304,444, and periodic maintenance for radiology equipment at The Royal Hospital, costing RO 787,750. An agreement for periodic maintenance of X-ray and CT scan machines in various health institutions was also approved, valued at RO 154,339.

Other notable agreements include a five-year internet service contract for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, valued at RO 1,012,210, and additional works for the restoration of the southern runway and taxiways at Muscat International Airport, worth RO 4,826,163.

Supplementary works for annual asphalt road maintenance in A’Dakhiliyah and Dhofar Governorates were also included, along with additional works for maintenance of mountain and desert dust roads in Dhofar Governorate.

The Tender Board also approved consultancy services for various infrastructure projects, including the Oman Botanic Garden project, Muscat International Airport runway renovation, and the Shinas-Mahdah dual-carriageway project. Additionally, educational projects such as the construction of classrooms at Suhail bin Amr Basic Education School in Shinas were given the green light.

These projects highlight the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and education across Oman, aiming to foster growth and development in the nation.
