Muscat:His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued two Royal Decrees, one concerning an amendment to the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the other regarding a mutual visa waiver agreement with Rwanda.
According to Oman News Agency, Royal Decree No. (87/2026) ratifies the amendment to the first paragraph of Article (8) of the Charter of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. This amendment follows the decision of the Council of Foreign Ministers on the Frequency of Convening the Islamic Summit. The decree mandates that relevant authorities deposit the ratification document in line with the provisions of the amended Charter. Additionally, it specifies that the decree is to be published in the Official Gazette and will be effective from its issuance date.
The second decree, Royal Decree No. (88/2026), ratifies an agreement between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Rwanda for a mutual visa waiver. This agreement, signed in Salalah on September 8, 2026, applies to holders of diplomatic, private, and service passports. Like the first, this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force immediately upon issuance.
