South A’Sharqiyah Municipal Council Evaluates Local Development and Investment Projects

Muscat: The Municipal Council of South A'Sharqiyah Governorate today convened a meeting to discuss topics related to local development, public services, and investment.

According to Oman News Agency, the session was presided over by Dr. Yahya bin Badr Al Maawali, Governor of South A'Sharqiyah. The council examined the progress of development projects and initiatives that are being executed through a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors. These projects are aligned with sustainable development goals, plans, and programs.

A significant point of discussion was the 'Green Belt Initiative,' spearheaded by the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning in the governorate. This initiative aims to improve urban settings by enhancing green spaces and reducing concrete structures. It proposes the creation of natural green buffer zones to segregate industrial areas from residential neighborhoods.
