Amman: The Senate's Jordanian-Uzbek Brotherhood Committee, led by Dr. Hayel Obeidat, convened with Uzbekistan's Honorary Consul to Jordan, Luay Abu Ghazaleh, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations. The meeting aimed to further solidify ties between the two nations following the visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II to Tashkent.

According to Jordan News Agency, Obeidat highlighted the significance of the Senate President Faisal Fayez's recent visit to Uzbekistan, which was focused on reinforcing the bilateral relations and ensuring their continued growth across multiple sectors. The discussions emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and consultation on mutual interests and enhancing joint parliamentary cooperation.

Obeidat proposed leveraging Uzbekistan's expertise in various sectors, including medical, health, educational fields, and the pharmaceutical industry, to build effective and reciprocal partnerships with the private sector. He stressed the need for translating the existing relations into actionable plans and projects that enhance investment opportunities and economic exchange.

Abu Ghazaleh affirmed the strong bilateral relations, noting the positive developments across various fields. He mentioned that the visa waiver between the two countries would facilitate movement and communication, opening up new cooperation opportunities. He also announced an upcoming investment conference and encouraged Jordanian private sector participation, particularly in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.

Committee members emphasized expanding cooperation to serve mutual interests, activating coordination frameworks, and exchanging expertise in priority sectors. They advocated for strengthening the private sector's role and opening new investment avenues to support joint economic development.
