Muscat: The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has embarked on the seventh iteration of its survey to assess public satisfaction with government services for the second half of 2026. This comprehensive survey, running from September 6 to December 31, 2026, is aimed at evaluating the experiences of beneficiaries interacting with various government entities.
According to Oman News Agency, the survey is designed to gather data on satisfaction levels, providing crucial statistical indicators that can guide efforts to enhance service quality and government performance efficiency. The participants include citizens, residents, private sector organizations, and government entities that have engaged with government services in the current year. The selection of the sample adheres to specific statistical criteria to ensure a representative assessment of satisfaction levels.
The survey delves into multiple aspects of user experience, such as accessibility, clarity of information, transaction speed, service efficiency, communication effectiveness, and the degree of digital transformation in service provision. These metrics form part of NCSI's strategy to deliver statistical insights into public satisfaction, aligning with Oman Vision 2040's objectives to advance government sector performance.
Mahfoudh Salim Al Musharfi, Director of the Public Opinion Measurement Department at NCSI, emphasized the importance of the survey as a statistical tool for understanding beneficiary experiences. The insights gained will support government entities in identifying improvement areas and enhancing service quality and efficiency.
Al Musharfi highlighted the significance of participant involvement and accurate expression of opinions to ensure reliable results. The survey's findings are intended to mirror actual service user experiences, aiding government bodies in refining the services offered to diverse societal and business segments.
He also assured that NCSI prioritizes data confidentiality and security, in line with the Statistics and Information Law established under Royal Decree No. 55/2019, which mandates the protection of individual data and its use solely for statistical purposes to safeguard privacy.
Earlier this year, NCSI conducted a preparatory meeting with representatives from 54 government entities involved in the survey. This meeting was aimed at reviewing survey methodologies, refining implementation processes, and discussing the organizational frameworks based on insights from previous survey rounds.
This public opinion survey is part of NCSI's ongoing efforts to periodically evaluate government services through multiple channels, including direct, electronic, and digital platforms, thus providing a comprehensive evaluation of service delivery mechanisms.
