Muscat: OpenAI announced the launch of a new feature for its AI chatbot, ChatGPT, called “Tasks.” “Tasks” feature allows users to schedule reminders or recurring requests. For example, users can set a reminder for morning exercises, and ChatGPT will send a notification when it is time.
According to Oman News Agency, to experience the feature, users can select the “4o with scheduled tasks” option from the dropdown menu in the ChatGPT interface, which will open a window for entering the required instructions. The platform also provides a dedicated page to manage scheduled tasks, allowing users to modify names, instructions, adjust schedules, or turn off notifications and delete tasks.
Notably, ChatGPT may suggest creating tasks based on the conversation context. However, the user has the option to accept or ignore these suggestions.
While the “Tasks” feature is currently only available to subscribers, OpenAI has confirmed plans to make it available to everyone once the trial period ends, following the pattern of previous features that underwent initial testing.
With this launch, OpenAI continues to showcase its ability to address user needs and provide practical solutions.
Since its debut in late 2022 as a Q and A platform, ChatGPT has evolved into a comprehensive platform offering multiple services, such as web search, running code with built-in tools, saving past conversations to personalize user experiences, and more.
