Muscat: The Omani-Bahraini Friendship Association (OBFA) held a regular meeting at the Diplomatic Club in Muscat today. The meeting, attended by representatives from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Bahrain, focused on consolidating bilateral relations and developing cooperation programmes.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting included the election of OBFA board members for the period from 2025 to 2028. Rudaina Amer Al Hajri was re-elected as Head of the Board of Directors for a second consecutive term. Sheikha Jawahir Al Khalifa was elected as Deputy Head of Board of Directors, with Dr. Ahmed Said Al Jahwari as Secretary-General and Ahmed Mohammed Al Ardi as Treasurer.
The restructuring of the Association’s standing committees was also a key point on the agenda. The Economic Committee will be headed by Abdullah Saleh Al Shanfari, the Membership and Affiliation Committee by Manar Malallah Al Balushi, the Communication and Media Committee by Maryam Ghalib Al Alawi, the Programmes and Events Committee by Shihab Ahmed Al Mujaini, and the Sports Committee by Ismail Al Ajmi.
Rudaina Amer Al Hajri stated that OBFA would continue to enhance cooperation between Oman and Bahrain in tourism, culture, and economy. She emphasized that the next phase would introduce initiatives and programmes aimed at boosting communication between the peoples of Bahrain and Oman, highlighting their shared values.
