Oman Participates in 15th General Conference of ICESCO in Tatarstan

Kazan: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Education, participated in the 15th General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), held in the city of Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan. The Omani delegation was led by Dr. Badr Hamoud Al Kharousi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education.

According to Oman News Agency, the conference session addressed several key topics, including the report of the Executive Council on its activities between the 14th and 15th sessions. Discussions also included the draft strategic plan for ICESCO's work and its budget for the years 2026-2029.

In his address, Dr. Al Kharousi emphasized Oman's unwavering position on promoting security, stability, and peace. He advocated for peaceful coexistence, dialogue, and mutual understanding based on respect among peoples. Dr. Al Kharousi underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international law principles to tackle challenges facing the Islamic world.

Dr. Al Kharousi also highlighted Oman's commitment to advancing its education system in line with Oman Vision 2040. He stated that this vision aims to build human capital equipped with future-ready skills, catering to the demands of the knowledge economy and digital transformation, while fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and educational quality.

Additionally, Dr. Al Kharousi noted Oman's dedication to preserving its natural and cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, as well as its documentary heritage. He expressed pride in the inscription of several Omani sites and elements on the Islamic world heritage lists.
