Muscat: The band of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) occupied overall first place in the World Music Competition held in the city of Perth, Scotland, as part of Grade 4B contests. The RAFO band also won first place in the bagpipe group and second place in the drum group.
According to Oman News Agency, the Royal Army of Oman Music Band maintained its excellence at the World Music Contest (WMC) in the city of Perth, Scotland, securing a place in the third global level (B), and fourth place in the overall ranking of the third level (A) and (B). In addition, the RAFO team won the top three places in the individual baton-bearers' competition. Warrant Officer Mohammed bin Khamis Al Amri took first place, followed by Staff Sergeant Mahmoud bin Yousuf Al Sinani in second place, while Captain Humaid bin Sulaiman Al Ghafri occupied third place.
These accomplishments reflect the Sultanate of Oman's standards of artistic skills and discipline related to military music, highlighting the country's presence in the global arena.
