Oman Engages in UN Conference on Palestinian Peaceful Resolution

New york: The Sultanate of Oman is actively participating in the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, taking place at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The conference is scheduled to continue until July 30 and aims to address key issues surrounding the Palestinian question.

According to Oman News Agency, Oman’s delegation at the conference is being led by Sheikh Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry. The plenary session held in the General Assembly hall featured statements from various participating delegations, including a notable speech by Ant³nio Guterres, the United Nations Secretary-General. Guterres emphasized that the establishment of a Palestinian state is “a right, not a reward,” reaffirming that the two-state solution remains the only realistic, just, and sustainable approach to resolving the ongoing conflict.

The international conference kicked off with a high-level ministerial meeting involving working groups that are part of the conference proceedings. Discussions during this meeting centered on providing a unified platform for key visions and highlighting international consensus in support of the two-state solution. The dialogue also covered political, legal, economic, and humanitarian dimensions and aimed to identify concrete next steps for advancing the peace process.
