Nama Electricity Distribution Company Launches Outage Management System

Muscat: Nama Electricity Distribution Company today launched an outage management system, which serves as a step forward in enhancing digital transition in the electricity sector. The system improves the efficiency of fault management, contributes to raising the reliability of the electricity network and secures the customer experience by restoring service faster and more efficiently.

According to Oman News Agency, the launch of the system is in pursuance of the company's efforts to adopt the latest technological solutions and provide smart, subscriber-oriented services. Abdullah bin Said Al Kindi, General Manager of Customer Affairs at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, affirmed that customer interest is at the heart of all the company's initiatives. This is evidenced by the launch of the Outage Management System, he added.

The system offers more transparency with regard to power outages, said Al Kindi, noting that the scheme allows the customers to stay informed of the power status updates in real time and enhances the quality of communication with members of the public. The outage management system is an integrated electronic platform that acts as a "smart brain" that deals with the electrical outage lifecycle-right from the moment it is detected or reported. It helps locate outages via smart maps, alerts and guides the nearest emergency teams operating in the vicinity of the outage area. The system also notifies the subscribers as soon as the service is restored.
