Morocco Hold Brazil to 1-1 Draw in World Cup Group Opener

Morocco: Morocco kicked off their 2026 World Cup campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Brazil in New York in their Group Three opener. Ismael Saibari gave Morocco the lead in the 21st minute, but Vin­cius Junior equalized for the five-time champions just 11 minutes later. Both sides took one point each from their opening group match.

According to Oman News Agency, in the same group, Scotland edged past Haiti 1-0. Morocco will face Scotland on 19 June in their second group-stage match, while Brazil take on Haiti the same day.
