Madrid: In a distinguished tribute to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain and Queen Letizia hosted an official dinner at the Royal Palace in Madrid. Prior to the dinner, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with Pedro S¡nchez, Prime Minister of Spain, along with several senior dignitaries. The Royal couple; the King and the Queen, then shook hands with the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan.
According to Oman News Agency, the King of Spain delivered an address renewing his welcome to His Majesty the Sultan and the accompanying official delegation on this historic visit, expressing his hopes that the visit would fulfill the shared aspirations of both nations in service of their peoples’ interests.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, in his address, highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Oman and Spain, acknowledging Spain’s role as a bridge connecting East and West. He emphasized the enduring friendship between the two nations, built upon a rich heritage of cultural exchange and mutual respect. His Majesty expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in economic, commercial, and investment spheres.
His Majesty also commended Spain’s contributions to global peace and its role as a leading political force in Europe. He expressed optimism for future collaborations in addressing global challenges and expanding commercial, cultural, and intellectual cooperation. The Sultan concluded by expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and anticipation for continued dialogue and cooperation.
The dinner was attended by the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and senior civil and military officials in the Kingdom of Spain.
