Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah, marking the commencement of President Kagame's official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. His Majesty extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guest, wishing him and his accompanying delegation a productive and pleasant stay.
According to Oman News Agency, an official reception ceremony was conducted to honor President Kagame. As the presidential motorcade arrived, a squadron of the Royal Cavalry lined up to salute the dignitaries. His Majesty Sultan Haitham escorted President Kagame to the dais, where the national anthem of Rwanda was played, followed by a 21-gun salute.
During the event, His Majesty greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying President Kagame, while the President met with Omani dignitaries, including Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and military commanders.
The Rwandan delegation accompanying President Kagame includes notable figures such as Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Yusuf Murangwa, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Antoine Kajangwe, Minister of Trade and Industry, Solange Uwituze, Minister of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Juliana Muganza, CEO of Rwanda Development Board, Dan Munyuza, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to the Sultanate of Oman, among other officials.
