Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued Royal Decree No. (56/2026), which introduces the Real Estate Register Law. This decree follows its presentation before the Council of Oman.
According to Oman News Agency, Article (1) of the decree stipulates that the provisions of the new Real Estate Register Law, as attached to the decree, are to be enforced. Article (2) mandates that the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning will issue the Executive Regulation of the law, along with necessary decisions to facilitate its implementation. Until these are issued, existing regulations and decisions will remain in effect, provided they do not conflict with the new law.
Furthermore, Article (3) of the decree annuls the previous Real Estate Register System established by Royal Decree No. (2/98), along with any provisions that contradict the new law. Article (4) specifies that the decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will take effect the day after its publication.
