His discussions with President Putin centered on fortifying the bilateral ties between Oman and Russia, as the two countries celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations. The aim is to elevate these ties into a partnership that benefits both nations, His Majesty stated.
According to Oman News Agency, His Majesty commended his meeting with Russian business leaders, highlighting their interest in enhancing relations in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and trade. Oman is keen to increase investments in Russia, with the Oman Investment Authority already collaborating with Russian entities. His Majesty also expressed appreciation for recent visits by Russian officials to Oman and hopes for continued exchanges.
President Putin welcomed His Majesty to Moscow, expressing gratitude for the state visit. He noted His Majesty’s historical role in establishing diplomatic relations in 1985 and emphasized the robust historical ties between the two nations. President Putin highlighted ongoing agreements aimed at strengthening the legal foundations of bilateral relations.
He also pointed out the potential for expanding trade, particularly in investments, transit, transportation, and agriculture, with Russia exporting agricultural products to Oman. Russian companies are eager to boost energy cooperation with Oman, and today’s discussions included practical matters on these fronts.
President Putin further mentioned the close coordination between both countries’ foreign ministries and announced Russia’s preparation to host the first Russian-Arab Summit, which has garnered significant support from Arab world allies.
