Muscat: The activities of the Himam Trail Race 2025 will kick off next Thursday, 11 December, in the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, with the participation of more than 4,500 male and female runners from 68 countries. On the first day, the Al Hajar Ultra race will take place, covering a distance of 120 kilometers. It starts from the Wilayat of Al Hamra, passes through historical routes, ascends towards Al Jabal Al Akhdar (the Green Mountain), and reaches the race village in Birkat Al Mouz in the Wilayat of Nizwa. This route is considered one of the most challenging in terms of geological and environmental diversity and elevation changes.
According to Oman News Agency, the Himam Trail Race 2025 is set to become a significant event, attracting participants from around the world. The race not only offers a test of endurance but also showcases the region’s landscapes and historical routes. The Al Hajar Ultra race, in particular, promises to be a highlight, offering a route that challenges participants with its elevation changes and varied terrain. This event is poised to put the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate on the map for international mountain running events.
