High Temperatures to Impact Coastal Areas Along Sea of Oman

Muscat: Forecasts issued by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center indicate a return of high temperatures starting tomorrow, Monday, and persisting for several days across the coastal areas overlooking the Sea of Oman. Temperatures are expected to range between the mid-forties (Celsius) and may approach the 50°C mark in some areas.

According to Oman News Agency, the remaining governorates of the Sultanate of Oman will also record temperatures in the mid-forties Celsius, while conditions will remain relatively more moderate along the coastal areas of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates. The Center has advised avoiding direct exposure to sunlight, especially during midday hours, and drinking sufficient amounts of water to prevent dehydration. It also urged the public to follow the latest updates issued by Oman Meteorology.

The upper-level high-pressure system in recent days remains one of the primary factors contributing to the elevated temperatures, alongside the influence of dry northwesterly winds and other climatic factors.
