Muscat:The Projects, Tenders, and Local Content Authority celebrated the graduation of 125 engineers and specialists from the "Imkan 3" program. These graduates represented 38 government entities and completed a course lasting over six months to enhance their skills in managing government projects and contracts.
According to Oman News Agency, the graduation ceremony was held under the auspices of Eng. Badr Salim Al Maamari, Chairman of the Projects, Tenders, and Local Content Authority. The program's expansion is evident with the participation of 15 government entities for the first time, indicating growing interest and the increasing scope of the initiative.
Abdullah Saif Al Hosni, Acting Advisor for Talent and Project Development at the Authority, stated that "Imkan 3" follows the success of its predecessors, "Imkan 1" and "Imkan 2." The program aims to create an integrated platform for developing national skills in government project and contract management. It focuses on establishing a comprehensive system for workforce competencies, classifying jobs related to project management, and adopting a unified strategy for project quality.
The program uses a blended learning methodology, combining in-person and distance education, field visits, research, and vocational guidance. It also incorporates artificial intelligence technologies in project management and offers accredited tracks like the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification to link theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
Eng. Abdullah Mohammed Al Amri, Director of the Project Planning Department at the Project Follow-up Office in the Authority, explained the rigorous selection process for participants, based on experience, qualifications, and project impact. The program emphasizes measuring training outcomes and maximizing competency development through various assessment tools.
Graduation projects are part of the program, providing practical solutions and leading to certificates based on performance. The program aims to build efficient national cadres for managing government projects, improving execution quality, governance, and spending efficiency. The "Imkan" programs strive to equip workers with the necessary skills to meet the demands of managing major projects and enhance the capabilities of government entities.
