Muscat: HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, has underscored the significance of fostering partnerships and integration with multiple work sectors and community institutions. He highlighted the need to leverage the insights and suggestions from Shura Council members to bolster development initiatives within the governorate.

According to Oman News Agency, this emphasis was articulated during a meeting held at the Office of the Governor of Dhofar. The meeting involved Shura Council members representing the governorate's various wilayats and was attended by Dr. Ahmed Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, along with several other officials.

The Governor stated that the governorate is committed to the principle of partnership and ongoing coordination with diverse entities and societal groups. He noted that the contributions from Council members are highly valued as they significantly support the governorate's developmental trajectory.

During the meeting, several presentations were delivered. The first presentation focused on service affairs in Dhofar Governorate for the first half of 2026. The second highlighted the work and accomplishments of the Governorate's Municipal Council during its third term. A third presentation detailed the initiatives, achievements, and projects that Dhofar Municipality has executed and planned for the current year.

Additionally, a visual presentation on the Comprehensive Strategy for Dhofar Governorate was shared, which centers on six pillars: human resource development, economic diversification, enhancing the business and investment climate, sustainable urban planning, social and cultural development, and environmental sustainability.

Participants also examined a presentation on key projects by Dhofar Municipality. These included road and lighting projects, the "Shaat Viewpoint" project, and efforts to refurbish and beautify several heritage and tourist locations, as well as other projects underway or completed across the governorate's wilayats.

The meeting featured an in-depth discussion where the Governor, Shura Council members, and governorate officials exchanged views and proposals. The conversation focused on development and service-related topics, with a shared emphasis on maintaining integration and coordination among various entities to advance development projects and address citizens' needs and aspirations.
