Gold Prices Hold Steady as Traders Anticipate US Inflation Data Release

Muscat: Gold prices remained steady today, with traders eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of US inflation data, which is expected to provide insights into the Federal Reserve's future interest rate decisions.

According to Oman News Agency, spot gold prices were unchanged at $4,424.40 per ounce. Meanwhile, US gold futures for December delivery saw a minor decrease of 0.1 percent, settling at $4,471.60 per ounce.

In the broader precious metals market, spot silver prices also remained stable, trading at $66.21 per ounce. However, platinum experienced a decrease of 0.7 percent, bringing its price down to $1,807.38 per ounce. Palladium saw a slight decline of 0.4 percent, with its price easing to $1,393.00 per ounce.

The market is closely watching the inflation data, as it is likely to influence the Federal Reserve's monetary policy and interest rate decisions in the coming months.
