Jeddah:The Executive Office of the Gulf Football Federation (GFF) convened in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where they granted Iraq the rights to host the 28th Arabian Gulf Cup. This decision was made during their meeting, which took place alongside the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup and was chaired by GFF President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

According to Oman News Agency, the request from the Iraq Football Association was the sole hosting bid submitted by member associations. The GFF Executive Office approved this request, with Iraq committed to selecting the host city and completing all necessary organizational procedures as per the Federation's regulations.

The approval aligns with the GFF's dedication to fostering cooperation with national associations and enhancing the system for Gulf tournaments, thereby supporting their organization and reinforcing their significance.
