G7 Pledges to Accelerate Gaza Aid and Back Regional Stability Amid US-Iran Deal

Muscat: G7 leaders have pledged to accelerate humanitarian efforts and reconstruction in Gaza, along with the swift implementation of related political and security measures, while calling for an end to violence in the West Bank, according to a statement issued after their summit in Évian. According to Oman News Agency, the leaders reaffirmed their support for efforts to secure an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Lebanon, strengthen the Lebanese state's authority, and ensure the state's exclusive control over arms, preserving Lebanon's autonomy and territorial integrity. On regional affairs, they welcomed the US-Iran agreement as an opportunity to enhance regional stability and prevent nuclear proliferation, pledging support for its implementation and success. They also stressed the importance of ensuring freedom of international navigation and backing initiatives to protect commercial shipping and strengthen global energy security. On Ukraine, the G7 reaffirmed unwavering support for Kyiv's autonomy and territorial integrity. They also emphasized the importance of a free, open and rules-based Indo-Pacific region and the need for international cooperation to address global economic imbalances.
