Muscat: Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, met with Zhang Lu, President of the International Zheng He Society, and her accompanying delegation during their visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

According to Oman News Agency, the discussions centered around the historical significance of Chinese traveler Zheng He’s visit to Oman 600 years ago. The meeting emphasized the importance of leveraging these historical connections to strengthen the longstanding friendship between the Sultanate of Oman, Singapore-where the society is headquartered-and China, the navigator’s homeland.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department at the Foreign Ministry.
