Lausanne: The Executive Committee of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) has selected Ahmed Saif Al Kaabi as the first Omani to hold membership in the association's Executive Committee.

According to Oman News Agency, this selection took place during the elections of the AIPS General Assembly held today in Lausanne, Switzerland, in the presence of representatives from 120 countries.

Gianni Merlo, President of the International Sports Press Association, praised the Sultanate of Oman's capabilities in hosting international conferences, recalling his participation in the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Congress in 2022. He noted that Muscat, represented by the Oman Journalists Association, organized an impressive conference and demonstrated high capabilities in organizing and ensuring the success of such events.

The elections involved the selection of the President, Vice Presidents, members of the Executive Committee, and the Secretary-General, totaling 20 officials.
