Ibri:The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs organized an event called "My Identity - Oman: Identity and Civilization" in the Wilayat of Ibri, A'Dhahirah Governorate.
According to Oman News Agency, the event was inaugurated by Tahir Mabkhout Al Junaibi, Governor of A'Dhahirah. Dr. Sheikh Kahlan Nabhan Al Kharousi, Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, emphasized the significance of the event and its role in reinforcing Omani identity within the community.
The program featured a visual presentation outlining the event's objectives and its associated exhibition. An introductory presentation on the Hidaayah Waqf Foundation and a poem recitation were also part of the opening.
The exhibition includes various sections, such as "Rights in Omani Society," "Omani Values in Urban Jurisprudence," and "Values and Ethics of Omani Traders in Spreading Islam." It also showcases panels of Omani creativity in human sciences and an "Omani Village" corner displaying the architectural identity of Omani villages.
The event is supplemented by programs like a lecture on "The Genius of Omani Authorship: Scientific and Intellectual Output" at Sultan Qaboos Mosque and a session titled "Your Identity in the Age of Fascination: Who Determines Who You Are?" at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibri.
The initiative aims to highlight the depth of Omani civilization and values, promote voluntary work, and introduce non-Omanis to Omani customs and values rooted in Islam. It seeks to strengthen Omani identity among children and increase societal awareness of preserving authentic values derived from Islamic teachings.
