Salalah: An economic seminar titled ‘The Future of Sustainable Energy and Facilities Management’ was held today in the Wilayat of Salalah. Organized by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar Governorate, in cooperation with Global Chemical Systems and Maintenance Company, the event explored future transformations and innovative solutions in the energy sector and smart facilities management.
According to Oman News Agency, the occasion was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar. The seminar covered five key themes: the shift toward renewable energy, smart facilities management, innovation and sustainability in infrastructure, supportive policies and legislation, as well as future challenges and opportunities in the sustainable energy sector.
Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, ASYAD Group, Global Chemical Systems and Maintenance Company, Oman Water Society, Felix Pharmaceuticals Industries, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Salalah, the Arab Open University, and the University of Al Buraimi. The event aimed to strengthen partnerships with academic and service institutions, highlight the latest innovations and technologies in energy, water, and facilities management, and discuss challenges and smart solutions to enhance operational and managerial efficiency. These efforts align with the targets of ‘Oman Vision 2040’ and the goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
