Muscat: HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, met today at the €š¬…¡¬°lys©e Palace with Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of the French Republic. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to the French Republic.

According to Oman News Agency, both sides reviewed the advanced bilateral relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic. Discussions addressed a number of matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on existing military cooperation between the two countries' Ministries of Defence. The talks also explored avenues for further developing and strengthening this partnership in a manner that advances shared interests and supports the aspirations of the leaderships of both nations towards deeper collaboration and coordination.

The meeting was attended by General Vincent Guiraud, Chief of the Military Staff of the French Republic.
