Daba Waterfront Development Project Reaches 98.5% Completion

Muscat: The Daba Waterfront Development Project in Wilayat of Daba has achieved a 98.5% completion rate, with final implementation scheduled for conclusion within the current year (2025). This initiative represents a key component of the government’s comprehensive development strategy to capitalize on the natural and coastal resources abundant throughout the Governorate of Musandam.

According to Oman News Agency, this strategic development project is executed by the Musandam Governor’s Office with support from OQ Exploration and Production. It aims to enhance tourism infrastructure, recreational facilities, and public services within the wilayat while stimulating local economic growth and elevating living standards for both residents and visitors.

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al Hoom Al Mayasi, Wali of Daba, emphasized that the 1,300-meter project establishes an integrated tourist destination for visitors to Wilayat of Daba and Musandam Governorate at large. The development is projected to attract significant beach tourism while activating economic, tourist, and social dynamics throughout the region.

He added that the project features comprehensive vital facilities and recreational amenities, including a concrete wave break, wellness promenade, dedicated children’s play areas, and extended beachfront parking. Additional components comprise landscaped green spaces, a 200-capacity circular open-air theater, and 150 five-meter lighting columns illuminating the entire walkway.

He confirmed that the Daba Waterfront Project marks a transformative advancement in the governorate’s tourism and recreational infrastructure, designed to foster healthy lifestyles through optimized environments for various sporting activities. He characterized the project as a cornerstone in realizing Musandam Governorate’s vision as an integrated tourist destination blending natural splendor with modern infrastructure.

The implementing authorities have maintained rigorous environmental sustainability standards throughout project execution to preserve natural resources and coastal ecological balance. The overall design consciously harmonizes with Wilayat of Daba’s inherent natural beauty and aesthetic character, ensuring seamless integration with the existing coastal landscape.
