China Launches New Remote-Sensing Satellite for Land Surveys and Disaster Prevention

Muscat: China today launched the Pakistan Remote-Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The satellite’s successful deployment marks a significant step in international cooperation in space technology.

According to Oman News Agency, the PRSS-1 was launched aboard a Kuaizhou-1A (KZ-1A) carrier rocket and has successfully entered its planned orbit. The satellite is designed for use in land resource surveys and plays a crucial role in disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.
