CBO Issues Commemorative Coins Celebrating its 50th Anniversary of Establishment

Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced the issuance of a commemorative set consisting of 5 coins, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its establishment (1975-2025).

According to Oman News Agency, this edition embodies a significant period in the journey of the Central Bank of Oman and documents its vital contributions to strengthening the pillars of the national economy and developing the banking sector. The commemorative set is a tribute to the bank's journey and an affirmation of its pioneering role in the economic development of the Sultanate of Oman for five decades.

Designed to high technical standards, the commemorative coins are made of pure silver with a face value of One Rial, a diameter of 60 mm, and a weight of 50 grams for the large coin, while each of the smaller coins made of silver-plated brass carries a face value of 100 Baisa, a diameter of 38.61 mm, and a weight of 28.28 grams. These coins are legal tender and can be purchased from the Central Bank of Oman locations in Ruwi, Salalah, and Sohar, or through Oman Post sale window at the Opera Galleria starting from July 19, 2026.
