Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion is hosting a two-day business forum in Muscat, bringing together representatives from Omani and Qatari trade companies to explore potential partnerships and economic collaboration.
According to Oman News Agency, Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the steady growth in relations between Oman and Qatar over the past decades. He attributed this progress to the shared vision of the two countries, which is based on mutual trust and the exchange of common benefits. Al Thani emphasized the leaderships’ commitment to enhancing economic and commercial cooperation, aiming to open new avenues for collaboration and foster partnerships that will contribute to joint prosperity.
Khalid Hamad Al Kharousi, Director General of Investment Promotion at the Ministry, stated that the forum is a continuation of bilateral interactions reflecting the countries’ vision to upgrade economic cooperation and broaden partnerships. Meanwhile, Khalid Abdulla Al Mana, Vice President of Enterprise Development at Qatar Development Bank and CEO of the ‘Qatar Exports’ initiative, noted that the forum seeks to build more commercial partnerships in strategic sectors shared by both nations. He mentioned that the commercial exchange between the two countries has exceeded RO 664 million in recent years.
The forum featured an overview of an Omani market study conducted by a team from ‘Qatar Exports’. Additionally, bilateral meetings were held with representatives from 45 Omani and Qatari trade companies participating in the forum.
