Muscat: The Board of Directors of the Oman Endowment Foundation (OED) today held its first meeting, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, Head of OED Board of Directors. The meeting focused on several key areas crucial to the foundation’s early development and operational strategies.
According to Oman News Agency, the meeting covered the appointment procedures for the OED Deputy Chairman and Rapporteur, and reviewed the progress made during the foundation stage of the OED. The formation of the working team, governance of projects, and the selection of a temporary headquarters for the OED were also on the agenda.
Discussions extended to administrative and financial matters, including setting the founding budget and authorizing a board member to temporarily fulfill the duties of the CEO. Steps to appoint a CEO, under the guidance of a specialized agency, were also initiated during the meeting.
The Board further evaluated the OED’s media policy, investment port
folio, and identified potential investment opportunities. They explored the investment operational model and considered the prospects for collaboration with expert houses specializing in developing financial, administrative, and investment systems.
