Barcelona: Barcelona have secured Danish defender Andreas Christensen to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2028, the club announced on its official website.

According to Oman News Agency, the new deal keeps the 30-year-old at Camp Nou until 30 June 2028, as he prepares for his fifth season with the Catalan side since joining from Chelsea in the summer of 2022.

Over his first four seasons at Barcelona, Christensen has made 98 official appearances, including 71 in La Liga, 15 in the UEFA Champions League, two in the Europa League, six in the Copa del Rey, and four in the Spanish Super Cup.

He has won three La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups with the club.

However, he missed last season after suffering a partial anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee, which sidelined him for several months.
