Muscat:Asian stock markets exhibited varied results in today's trading session, influenced by last week's decline in oil prices, which contributed to US equities achieving their first weekly gain in three weeks.

According to Oman News Agency, Japan's benchmark Nikkei index saw a slight decrease, falling 0.1 percent to 66,333.53 points. South Korea's Kospi index experienced a larger drop, declining 2.3 percent to 61,916.30 points.

China's Shanghai Composite index also decreased, down 1.7 percent to 3,820.82 points. In contrast, Australia's S and P/ASX 200 index increased by 0.3 percent, reaching 8,688.60 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose 0.7 percent to 24,684.09 points.
