Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed to settle infrastructure projects in Baghdad and take quick decisions for projects that contribute to solving service crises. A statement from his media office stated that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired, today, Thursday, a meeting devoted to reviewing major strategic projects in the capital, Baghdad, in the sectors of water, sewage, roads and others. During the meeting, Al-Sudani stressed the need to settle all infrastructure projects in Baghdad in a manner that is commensurate with the large population of the capital, and to continue working on all service projects, noting that this government has taken it upon itself to end the various obstacles that delay the completion of projects, and is keen to move the wheel of implementation, directing the officials of the Secretariat not to hesitate to make decisions that serve the major projects concerned with solving the service crises of the people of Baghdad, because the duty of the official is to simplify procedures and reach solutions to problems in all sectors. The meeting reviewed the problem of mechanisms, as the Prime Minister directed the formation of a committee headed by the Mayor of Baghdad and the membership of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Planning and the Legal Advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister to settle the issue of purchasing mechanisms for the Secretariat of Baghdad. The meeting also discussed the Secretariat's procedures to complete the referral of infrastructure projects in the new Sadr City, and follow up on the implementation procedures and progress of work in the sewage projects in the areas of Albu Aitha, Al-Khansa and the Police Canal, in addition to the implementation procedures regarding the expansion of water projects in line with the population increase and future strategic projects, as the Rusafa Water Project will be expanded to feed the new Sadr City. In the roads file, Al-Sudani directed the referral of six bridge projects for implementation, which fa ll under the responsibility of the Secretariat, within the projects to relieve bottlenecks, three of which are on the Rusafa side, and three on the Karkh side, stressing that this meeting will be held periodically every two months, to follow up on the measures taken in light of the directives issued by His Excellency regarding the completion of projects, and the removal of obstacles and impediments that hinder their implementation.
