Agriculture Department in North Al Batinah Launches Projects to Serve Rural Women

Sohar: The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate today launched a package of initiatives for the implementation of development projects to serve rural women. The programme took the theme 'Rural Leadership: Empowerment, Production and Knowledge Transfer'.

According to Oman News Agency, Eng. Nasser bin Ali Al Marshoudi, Director General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate, stated that the initiatives aim to empower 1,500 women through projects that contribute to entrepreneurship and sustainable development.

The ceremony featured the launch of a production line dedicated to the implementation of entrepreneurial projects. This includes an electronic guidance kit designed to carry out seven strategic projects, such as the establishment of livestock pens, laboratory testing units, marketing exhibitions, and a waste recycling system.

Additionally, the ceremony included the signing of contracts for training and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between women entrepreneurs and companies of university students, aimed at promoting innovation and knowledge transfer.

The event was held under the auspices of Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Hinai, Wali of Sohar.
