Muscat: The 25th Summer Camp for Guides and Senior Guides concluded today at the permanent scout camp in the plains of Jabal Ashur, Dhofar Governorate. According to Oman News Agency, the camp was organized by the Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate General of Scouting, Guiding and Student Activities, under the theme "Our Future Lies in Our Values," and saw the participation of more than 350 leaders and guides from across the Sultanate of Oman.
The camp, which extended over several days, focused on enhancing the personal and physical skills of the guides, developing their leadership capabilities, and encouraging innovation and teamwork. It also aimed to instill a spirit of adventure and challenge, preparing participants for active community service. The program included training workshops, scientific and touristic visits, and sporting and cultural activities, including competitions and group games. Additionally, the "National Day.. My Heritage is My Identity" event was organized, enriching the participants' experiences and reinforcing national identity and voluntary work values.
The closing ceremony featured a speech by the participants, a visit to an accompanying exhibition, and a visual presentation that highlighted the camp's key milestones, programs, and activities. Dr. Intisar Abdullah Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Supportive Educational Programs and patron of the event, concluded the ceremony by honoring the participants and the supporting entities that contributed to the camp's success.
