Madrid, Xabi Alonso is returning to Real Madrid

to start a new adventure as a coach in the club’s academy.

The former Los Blancos’ star will be in charge of the Infantil

Ayouth team in Valdebebas.

He is not the only ex Real player to be involved in coaching at

the club’s academy as Santiago Solari and Raul Gonzalez also form

part of the hierarchy, heading up the Real Madrid Castilla and Cadete

B sides respectively.

Both Alonso and Raul completed their UEFA coaching courses

in the RFEF’s Ciudad del Futbol in May and must now spend a year

coaching an academy side before they can enjoy official coach status.

This will then allow both Spaniards to coach any team at any

level of the game.

After leaving the club four years ago to join Bayern Munich,

Alonso has always had his sights firmly set on a role in the dugout,

something which will now become a reality, the Spanish MARCA

newspaper reported.
