Muscat, A workshop on the computation of statistical indicators related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) started today. The workshop aimed at developing human capacities, raising awareness of the SDGs implementation and filling the gaps in how data is collected and analyzed by indicators.
The workshop discusses ways to increase the compatibility of the national and global SDGs indicator framework, identify key national data sources that can be adapted to gather indicators and agree on a roadmap for moving forward.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Hamad bin Said al-Aufi, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries in the presence of undersecretaries.
The four-day workshop focuses on strengthening the capacity of national statisticians and other technicians on a set of selected objectives and indicators most relevant to the Sultanate and overseen by the FAO.
