Hanoi, At least 12 people have been killed and five
missing in the northern port city of Nha Trang after a tropical storm hit
the coast.
The Central Committee for Natural Disasters Protection and Control
said in a report released today that two people, including a seven-
year-old child, were killed when a wall collapsed yesterday, adding that
11 others were injured.
Typhoon Toraji, which downgraded to a tropical depression, hit
Vietnam on Saturday, was accompanied by winds moving at speeds of
60 to 75 kilometers per hour and tornados of up to 100 kilometers per
hour.
Typhoon Toraji caused heavy rain throughout the southern region,
according to the National Center for Meteorological Forecasting.
