MUSCAT, Oman, Two persons died and one was injured, after an Indian oil tanker caught fire, in the Sea of Oman, on Tuesday.

The Royal Air Force of Oman, in cooperation with the Royal Navy of Oman, airlifted the bodies of the dead to Port Sultan Qaboos, and transferred the injured to the Khoula Hospital.

The evacuation exercise comes within the framework of the humanitarian role, played by the Sultan’s Armed Forces along with citizens, residents and other government agencies.

The explosion occurred in one of the tanker’s cargoes.

The cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.
