Tropical Depression Over Arabian Sea: CAA

Muscat, The National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre weather analysis indicates that a tropical depression has been observed East-Central of the Arabian Sea today (Sunday) 7 November 2021.

The depression is located at longitude (67.5 E) and latitude (14.0 N) with an estimated surface wind speed around the center 21 – 27 knots (40 – 50 km/hour).

It is expected to maintain its intensity as a depression and move west to southwest towards the Horn of Africa with no impact over the Sultanate of Oman during the next 72 hours.

The sea state will be moderate along the coasts of the Arabian Sea and with a maximum wave height of 2.0 meter and slight waves along Oman’s sea coastal areas.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) advices all to take precautions during rain and wadis, check the visibility and sea state before sailing and follow the issued weather bulletins and reports.
